I didn't see her chin at first, she was complaining about her knee that was a little skinned. I checked her mouth and the inside of her bottom lip was bleeding, then I saw her chin. It's a good thing it was where she couldn't see or she would have thought she was dying! It was bleeding pretty bad and was a pretty long cut, and about 1/4 inch wide. I could tell it wasn't deep but I knew we would have to go see about getting stitches so hopefully she wouldn't have a bad scar.
Right after it happened and I was wiping blood from her chin, a Fire & Rescue truck dropped a guy off at the Apple Store. As he came out (new iPhone in hand) and was waiting for his partners to pick him back up, we ran up to him and asked if he thought she might need stitches. He said they could probably use glue but it needed to be seen about. About that time, the truck stopped to pick him back up. The other 3 guys turned the lights on on the truck and got out. They were all really nice and put a band-aid on her chin. Avaree started freaking out because she didn't want to go to the hospital and she did NOT want stitches! She kept acting like she was fine and it wasn't bothering her. I guess she thought if she did that that we wouldn't take her to get it seen about.
We went in one more store and then headed to the emergency room. We called Gammy and she had to come see about her baby so she met us at the hospital. We got there and thankfully there were only 3 other kids ahead of us.
They took us back to our room and the doctor came in to take a look. She said she didn't need stitches since it was such a clean cut, and she would use glue to seal it back. Once Avaree heard that, she calmed down and was perfectly fine!
They numbed the area and irrigated it. Then the doctor applied the glue.
There's no bruising or anything and she acts like it doesn't bother her. The glue is starting to peel off so I'm hoping it is going to hold together.
I was hoping this little incident would keep her from acting like a monkey and running and jumping around, but unfortunately it hasn't. I don't know what it's going to take to make her learn her lesson!
