Getting Closer

Yesterday afternoon I had an appointment with my midwife at 36 weeks 3 days. I lost 1 pound (I really think they were wrong last week when they said I had gained 4) so now I am up 4 pounds! I am "almost 2" cm dilated and 50% effaced!! YAY! Hopefully I'll keep making progress, I feel like I am. We only have a little over 3 weeks left until our due date, but I'm thinking he may decide to come before then! I hope so anyways! Picture Day

Today was Avaree's picture day at school. I can't wait to see how they turned out. She said she did good and she took some in her cap and gown too (for VPK). This morning before we left for school, I took a picture of her. After I took it, she said "Mom, put that picture on the internet so everybody can see it." That was so funny to me. So did just that and took another picture of her with my iphone and uploaded it to Facebook.

Baby Shower at Work

Today my wonderful coworkers gave me a baby shower! They did a great job with everything, I loved it! I'm very grateful for everything they did for us! Here are some pictures from today! Thanks everyone!36 wks 1 day

Shrimp Fest Fun

This past weekend was Shrimp Fest. Thursday afternoon was the parade and I think this is always our favorite part of the whole weekend!Friday night, we went downtown for some yummy shrimp and fireworks! Avaree had a blast in the Kids Fun Zone. She played in a couple of bouncy houses with one of her friends and she did this bungee jumping thing. She wanted to do it last year but she didn't weigh enough. She loved it this year, except she was too scared to flip like the bigger kids were doing!

Making some progress

I had my 35 week appointment today and everything went well. I gained another 4 pounds (I actually think it's 3, but the nurse wrote down 4...the scale was still moving) so now I'm up 5 pounds. That's still pretty good for 35 weeks! I had another routine test--the one for Group B Strep. I should get the results back next week. My midwife also checked my cervix. I haven't started thinning out yet, but I am 1 cm dilated, and she could also feel his head!! That was exciting for me because with Avaree, I never made it past 1/2 cm before I went in to be induced. She also said that many times with a second pregnancy, you start dilating before you start thinning out so I'm right on track! Hopefully I won't be stuck at 1 for the next few weeks!

I was planning on sharing some pictures of Jace's room this week but unfortunately our crib was recalled. We took it back and ordered a different one and it was shipped yesterday. So it should be here in a few days!

35/35

Today we have reached 35/35: 35 weeks pregnant and 35 days until our due date! WOOHOO! Hopefully the little man will decide to come a few days early. We can't wait to meet him!

Miss Priss

Avaree is so funny about her hair. She likes it a certain way and if I don't do it like that before school, she will take ponytail holders and barrettes to school and she will fix it when she gets there. She likes it in a low ponytail with some hanging down on the side of her face. This is how she likes it when she wears a headband:She wants some hanging down instead of the headband keeping it all back. It's so funny to me how at 4 years old she is so particular and wants it done her way!
