Schedule Change

We made a big change to our schedule the beginning of December. Since I was unable to go part-time at work, James is now working Thursday through Sunday and is staying home with Jace Monday through Wednesday. They also pick Avaree up from school. We are saving $100 a week by only having the kids in daycare two days a week. It seems to be working out really well, and James is enjoying all the one-on-one time he's getting with Jace.

 

8 Months

Happy 8 months baby boy!

Jace is growing up too fast, 8 months already! I've started planning his first birthday party and I can't believe it's only 4 short months away!

Jace is just perfect. He's learning something new all the time! He weighs around 20 pounds and wears 9 months clothes and also 6-12 months. He is in the medium setting in his diapers. He's still sleeping great, but he's learned to stand up in his crib, so instead of going to sleep when we lay him down, he stands up and walks around the edges of his crib. Sometimes, I have to go in a few times to lay him down. As soon as he wakes up, he stands and starts hitting on the crib rail. That's how we know he's awake!

He keeps his tongue sticking out and curls it up, it's so cute! He's crawling everywhere and is pulling up on everything and cruises around like a champ! He gets brave and will let go with one hand and just hold on with the other. He is getting into everything, we need to start baby proofing the house! Jace is drinking 6 ounce bottles, 7 ounces before bed. I've been slowly decreasing the amount of rice cereal we put in his bottles to try to wean him off of it. He hasn't been spitting up at all and we're down to one teaspoon of cereal. I'll cut it out completely in the next few days. He doesn't always finish his bottles though. He's eating 3 meals a day and loves to eat, he wants everything that we have. He loves fruit puffs and yogurt melts.

It's getting harder and harder to take his picture, he doesn't want to sit still!

George Strait Concert

Mom and I went to see George Strait, Reba, and Lee Ann Womack last night. It was awesome! We had fantastic seats and it was a great show. We were able to go up to the stage at the end and we got so close to George! Can't wait to see him again!

Ashlee's Birthday

This weekend, we went up to Pearson for Ashlee's 17th birthday. Jennifer made her a fabulous cake and we enjoyed spending time with family!

 

Pulling Up and a Few Other Things

Jace started pulling up today! He's growing up so fast. He'll walk behind his Radio Flyer walker but we have to help him or he will go too fast and fall! He'll also lean back and it'll fall on top of him. He hasn't cried when that's happened, he just looks around and then pushes it off of him.

He is crawling everywhere now and he is so fast! He's checking out everything and is making laps around the house. He can wave but doesn't do it very often. He also likes to "high five" and thinks its so funny if you keep hitting his hand over and over again like you're giving him "five". We'll hold up our hand and say "gimme five" and he'll smile and do it. It's so cute!

2 Appointments

We've had a sick little guy! He ran a fever a couple of days ago but it went down but he woke up this morning with a 102.3 fever. His eyes have been really watery, he's been congested and has a cough and runny nose. I stayed home with him today and took him to the doctor this morning, he weighed 19 pounds 11 ounces. He has an upper respiratory infection and blocked tear ducts. He will cough so much he throws up. Poor little guy.

I was going to leave work at lunch anyway because he had an appointment this afternoon with a Pediatric Surgeon at Nemour's for a little bump on the bottom of his foot. I'm not sure if he was born with it or if he got it soon after but he's had it for a long time. I finally remembered to show it to his pediatrician at his last well visit and she wasn't sure what it was so she referred us to the surgeon.

He said it was probably nothing to worry about, he was positive it is benign and it's only on the flesh, it doesn't go any deeper. He does want to check it again in two months to see if it's changed any. If it has to be removed, he will have to be put to sleep. I don't want him to have to go through that but I also don't want it to grow and affect his walking.
