Jace's New Thing

I've finally been able to get a few videos of Jace doing his new thing. He does this ALL the time now! Usually every time he sees my phone, he stops and wants to get the phone.

Kindergarten Picture

Avaree's school pictures just came in. I think they turned out pretty good (for school pictures), although her hair looked better when I dropped her off that morning! She's growing up so fast!

The Rockettes

We were at Nemours a couple of weeks ago for Avaree's allergy appointment and two of The Rockettes came for a visit. Avaree was so excited at first and couldn't wait to go see them, but when it was her turn, she was shy and wanted no part in it! She wouldn't take her picture with them. A photographer for the newspaper was there and took a picture of Avaree hiding under my shirt. Of course, that made the front page of the Metro section (see it here)! There is also a video on there and you can see us in the background. She had no idea who The Rockettes were so when we got in the car, I found some videos on youtube on my iPhone so she could see. She said "Is that their leg over their head?!?"

Jace found his feet today and he loves them!

 

Playdate with Cousin Matt

GranDawn and Aunt Stephanie brought Matt over to visit Jace and Avaree a few days ago. Matt is 5 weeks older and Jace is bigger than him! It's so fun to watch them together. At 5 months and 4 months, they are already fighting over toys. Every time Jace got a block, Matt had to get it from him and if he couldn't, he would get upset. It was so funny!

 

 

 

 

 

 

4 Months

Happy 4 Months Jace!

4 months already...that's crazy! Jace is doing wonderful and he's growing like a weed. He had his 4 month check up and shots yesterday. He was such a big boy. He took the rotavirus vaccine by mouth again and LOVED it! Then he had a shot in each leg. The first one he didn't even flinch at all and the 2nd one he started crying right when she pulled the needle out and he stopped as soon as I picked him up. He's such a tough little guy!

 He weighed 15 pounds 10 ounces (75th percentile), was 26.5 inches long (95th percentile) and his head was 16.5 inches (50th percentile). His doctor was very shocked at how big he is and said he is doing things that she normally checks for in 6 month olds. She also said he is perfect, which we already knew that!

We've decided to go back to Similac Sensitive (the Ready to Feed liquid). The Good Start was giving him a lot of gas and he was starting to spit up a lot. His doctor also gave him a prescription for Zantac that should help with the spitting up. It tastes awful though and he doesn't like it, so we'll see how that goes.

Jace is drinking 6 ounces every 3-4 hours, and 7 ounces before bed. We're also giving him rice cereal and half a jar of a veggie in the evenings. We'll probably keep doing that for another few weeks and then add a morning feeding. He's still sleeping straight through the night. He usually goes to bed between 7:15 and 8:00 pm and sleeps until I have to wake him up at 6:45 am to get ready to be out of the house by 7:20. On mornings I don't have to get him up, he will sleep until 7:30 to 8:30 am. He likes to sleep!

He is the best baby! I would have a house full of babies if they would all be like him!! He's been rolling tummy to back for a while now and we're working on back to tummy. It won't be long though! He will sit with support, and he loves it! He's nosy and he likes to see what's going on! He's also been losing his hair. He hardly has any on top anymore. I miss all that hair that he was born with, it'll grow back soon I guess though.

Jace is starting to wear 3-6 month clothes. I really need to go through all of his clothes and take out what he's outgrown (probably a lot!) and put in the bigger stuff! He is in size 2 diapers still (at daycare) and he is still in small cloth diapers. Some of them I've adjusted to size medium and they fit well. We will be starting cloth diapers at daycare next week, so hopefully that will go well.
