School Pictures

We've had Avaree's school pictures for a while and I'm just now getting around to scanning them. I haven't even cut them apart to give out yet! They took these at Pre-K back in May.

1 Month (and a week) Checkup

Jace had his 1 month checkup today.

He was 9 lb 15 oz and 22.6 inches long! Wow! He's a growing boy! His doctor said he looked perfect! (Which I already knew! lol) She said his belly button looked fine and will continue to heal and dry up. The cord finally fell off yesterday (7/7/10) at 5 weeks 1 day! We go back on July 29 for his dreaded 2 month shots. Daddy will definitely be going with us to that one!

5 Weeks

 Jace is 5 weeks old today and he just keeps getting sweeter! He is taking 4 ounces every 3 hours during the day still. The past couple of nights, I've made 6 ounce bottles and he's taken about 5 1/2 ounces so I'll be trying 6 ounce bottles during the day to see how he does. His umbilical cord stump is still hanging on. I'll talk to the doctor about that on Thursday at his 1 month checkup (a week late).

This is one of my favorite onesies--"Mommy's New Man"! I bought the bib just like it when I was pregnant; I came home with it and James was less than thrilled (I think he thought he would be pushed to the curb when Jace got here)! When I saw the onesie I just had to get it for my little guy!

 

He's a mover! I took this picture the other day while he was taking a nap. I marked on the picture where I laid him down, and when I went to check on him, he had scooted all the way over to the side of his bed.

First Evening Away

Saturday James and I went to see Eclipse and left Avaree and Jace with Gammy and Grandaddy. It was the first time I had been away from him for more than 30 minutes, and only the third time I had left him. And I failed. I forgot to put his milk in the diaper bag! Mom picked them up on the way to get groceries and I got his bag together...filled 3 bottles with water, put the right amount of formula in the formula dispenser, made sure he had plenty of diapers and a couple of extra outfits. James and I were on the way to the movies and Mom called asking where his formula was. Oops...it was sitting on the counter right where I'd filled it. Good thing they were at Wal-Mart so she picked up some formula. I couldn't believe I'd done that and hopefully it won't happen again!

The movie was fantastic (the best Twilight movie yet!) and it was nice to get out for a little while without kids, but I missed them. I was worried how Jace would do being away from me for that long but I knew he was in good hands. He did great of course and Gammy and Grandaddy enjoyed spending time with him.

Happy 1 Month Birthday Baby Boy!

Jace is one month old today. It doesn't seem like it was already a month ago that we were meeting our baby boy. He is so precious and I couldn't imagine him not being in our lives. He is so sweet and is growing so much. It seems like his looks are changing every day.

He is doing great and we've all adjusted well. He's still only getting up once at night, sometimes as late as 5:30-6 am, then going back to sleep for a few hours. His umbilical stump is still attached and I don't know why! I've done everything I'm supposed to do and it's still hanging on. I'm hoping it falls off very soon. I've managed to get a couple smiles out of him yesterday and today! So cute!

Jace had his first little road trip this past week. Aunt Jenn, Avaree, Jace, and I went to Georgia for the day to visit friends and family that hadn't seen him yet. The ride was about 2 hours and he did great! Everyone was so glad to see us all.

Jace went to the movies for the first time today. Avaree, Jace, and I went to see Toy Story 3 with Grandma Audrey, Ashlee, Tia, and TJ. He was a good boy--slept most of the time.

Our little man is finally starting to enjoy his swing. Normally he would only stay in it for a couple of minutes, but over the past few days, he will stay longer. He has fallen asleep in it and slept for a couple of hours.
